Seborrhoeic keratosis is a very common, harmless skin growth that often appears waxy or scaly. These benign lesions can develop anywhere on the body, most frequently on the face, chest, back and shoulders.
They appear in adults from the late 30s onwards, look brown or black, and often have a waxy, rough or slightly raised appearance, frequently described as looking "stuck on" the skin.
