Understanding DPN
Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra is a common, benign skin condition that appears as small, dark, raised bumps, often on the face, neck, chest and back.
It is especially common in people with African, Asian or Caribbean heritage. Although DPN is medically harmless, it can impact on tone, texture and self-confidence, and some people choose cosmetic removal.

After treatment
Helping you every step of the way with expert care. Healing varies from person to person.
Mild redness, swelling or tenderness may occur and usually settles within a couple of days.
Small scabs may form as the skin heals. Allow them to fall away naturally. The face usually heals faster than the neck or body.
Once the scabs have fallen away, the skin continues to settle. Temporary darkening may gradually fade, and full blending can take several months.

Aftercare
Keep the area clean.
Avoid picking or scratching.
Avoid direct sun exposure.
Moisturise daily.
Protect and heal with SPF 50+.

The treatment is described as involving minimal discomfort. Mild redness, swelling or tenderness can occur around the treated area afterwards.
Treated lesions are removed, and the technique is designed to prevent recurrence in the treated spots. New DPN can develop over time, which is why some clients return for maintenance sessions.
Early redness can settle within a few days, while scabbing and pigmentation changes can take longer to fade. Your aftercare guidance explains what to expect for your treatment area.
It depends on the size and density of the area. Appointments are priced by time or area, and Bola will advise on what can be covered once she has seen your photo.

Yes. In many cases, DPN can be treated in the same appointment as skin tags or seborrhoeic keratosis. This will depend on the number, size and areas being treated. Please send us clear photos beforehand so we can advise you on the most suitable appointment length.
